About

Hyde Park and Woodhouse is an attractive and historic area close by Leeds city centre. It comprises Hyde Park, North Hyde Park, Woodhouse, Little Woodhouse and Little London. Each of these neighbourhoods has a very distinctive character. Woodhouse is characterised by brick terraces and families who have lived there for generations. Little Woodhouse is full of large Victorian villas (Queen Victoria herself spent the night in one of them). Hyde Park is home to a large South Asian community and is where many students choose to stay. North Hyde Park is a quiet leafy area with a lot of charm, whilst Little London is much more contemporary with system built terraced housing and several tower blocks. The open parkland and woodlands of Woodhouse Moor and Woodhouse Ridge provide a vital natural heart within the dense neighbourhoods of Victorian housing, whilst the rich range of people and varied architecture make for an excitingly vibrant urban community.
