Looks like there’s nothing in the pipeline yet for Plans Panel West to re-examine the GSL proposals for the former LGHS site in Headingley Lane until at least 7th October. I’m wondering if the relatively recently elected Council members plus the more long-standing ones are beginning to realise that their public is an intelligent sector of our community, who depend upon their Councillors for straight talk and fair dealings.

On a different matter altogether YEP, Friday 3.09.10 Page 12 bore ref. to Council Community Grants available now to local charities and community groups -Forms can be downloaded but must be in by Monday 7th September.

Hi there – just spotted this blog thanks to the link today from the Guardian Leeds website.
My team are responsible for the Vision for Leeds document referred to – and we have to put our hands up – it was a captioning error and an honest mistake. We are sorry. We made it in 2004 – and no slur was intended on either Harehills or Hyde Park communities.

We are about to start the process of public consultation on a renewed Vision for the city – looking ahead to 2030. We have a campaign website http://www.whatifleeds.org and discussions are starting on facebook (www.facebook.com/whatifleeds) and twitter @whatifleeds

I took my grandchildren to Kirkstall Abbey at Easter as i have done with my own children and my parents and grandparents did with me and i was disgusted at the ammount of students there having bbqs. It isn’t just Woodhouse Moor its every park and i was mortified at Kirkstall Abbey. The Liberal Democrats said they don’t know how to enforce the bylaws but they manage to enforce the bylaws around the civic hall. These students are in need of asbos and yet they get away with murder. The people of Leeds are going to have to revolt with all the political parties because none of them care about our city. My 5 yr old grandson said it was like someone smoking in your face with at least 5 barbeques in a 20 yard walk. Someone or something has got to give and something be done, i for one will be right there at the front with my banner. Leeds City Council have turned Leeds into a laughing stock of a city with its ugly buildings and antisocial behaviour. I would also like to meet the people in the planning department bacause i have heard some tales about them. There is a man bragging about getting planning permission for more student flats and yet i haven’t received notice of this and its only 30 yards away from where i live. I did go to see Penny Ewans about this at her monthly surgery today (2 days before the election) and neither her nor her representative bothered to turn up. Guess who’s not getting my vote.

Kathleen – These are pertinent questions, to which I don’t have answers. Since the idea was Greg Mulholland’s, I suggest you forward your questions to him at info@gregmulholland.org My understanding from the meeting was that Mr Torrible intends conducting discussions alone.

Those who attended Monday’s meeting and maybe some who could not attend, are a disparate group of people, and some may have special skills and abilities which would make them invaluable members of a working party. How will they know to whom, and how, to register their interest?

I too am very grateful for Bill McKinnon’s speedy and detailed report of Monday’s meeting.

I think the desired goal must be zoned in on with immediate and positive determination. The framework for the Working Party needs I feel,to be set up early, though remaining flexible to the end, so that the Working Party represents the very epitome of focussed minds.

Is Mr. Torrible, alone, proposing to discuss with the Working Party?
